EXPOSITION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT

Our Lord thirsts for souls to keep him company
we must pray for our priests.

Sacred Heart Church Tuesdays 9.30am – 11.30am (with the exception of the 1st Tuesday of the month,  when the Anointing Mass is on, it is at 9am-10am) Fridays 7.30pm – 9.30pm 1st Friday of the month - All night adoration from 7.30pm – 7.30am

St Vincent's Church Mondays – Fridays:  5:50am - 6:20am Thursdays:  9:45am - 11:00am

All are welcome to attend this peaceful, tranquil time on a regular or casual basis,
for your own private devotion, reflection and prayer.

 

FATIMA GROUP
The Fatima Group meets at Stella Maris Church at 9:00am after the 8:30am Mass every 1st & 3rd Monday in the month for devotion and prayer.

On Fatima Day (13th Day of the month), and other  major feast days as arranged,  all parishioners and pilgrims are invited to come together for the  bus trip to Marian Valley at Canungra.  The Pauline Fathers offer Exposition, Rosary, Confession, Mass, Procession to the Grotto, Benediction and Anointing of the Sick as some of the activities throughout the day.  Bus departs Sacred Heart Church, 8:15am. ROSARY GROUP
The Rosary Group meets at St Vincent's every day Monday to Saturday 6:20am - 6:45am and Sundays 7:30am.  One entire mystery is recited each day and on the first Saturday of the month Our Lady's intentions - the entire mysteries of the Rosary.

We pray for the Parish, the sick, those who have died, unborn children, local & world tragedies, our priests and vocations, the Pope and Bishops, political unrest and peace in the world, and many special requests.  Everyone is welcome to join in, no need to phone just arrive on the days convenient .

 

SACRED HEART PRAYER GROUP
The Sacred Heart Prayer Group meets every 2nd Tuesday of the month after the 9am Mass in the Meditation Room.  The group has a list of people they want to pray for.  Everyone has the opportunity to pray for their loved ones.  Prayer materials are provided and we pray for 30 minutes.  Parishioners who are unable to attend the prayer sessions and would like special prayers are invited to submit their prayer request.  Forms are available on the table at the back of Sacred Heart Church.  The prayer group will include the requests at the next prayer session.  All welcome to join in the prayer sessions.

 

SACRED HEART CHARISMATIC PRAYER GROUP
The Group meets monthly to foster the growth of Catholic charismatic spirituality through prayer, song and reflective Scripture.  Please note that this group is in recess until further notice.

 

ST JOSEPH'S PRAYER GROUP
St Joseph’s Prayer Group  meets 1st Wednesday of the month at Sacred Heart Church, 9.30am-10.30am.  We are dedicated to pray to St Joseph, the foster father of our Divine Lord, to protect our children and families.

 

SPANISH ROSARY AND DEVOTIONS PRAYER GROUP
Spanish Rosary and Devotions on Wednesdays at 6pm-8pm at the Stella Maris Church. 

 

ITALIAN CHARISMATIC PRAYER GROUP
The Group meets to praise God through Scriptures and prayer and to pray for the needs of the people.  The Group meets every Friday at 7:00pm at Stella Maris Church, 268 Hedges Avenue, Broadbeach.  Italian Mass is celebrated at Stella Maris Church on Sundays at 6pm.

 

LENTEN GROUPS
Small discussion groups are formed each Lent to discuss the readings of Lent and to assist in the spiritual preparation for Easter. The usual resource is from the Archdiocese of Brisbane. Contact the Parish office for more details.

 

CHRISTIAN MEDITATION
Be still and know that I am God” Ps 46

Meditation is contemplative prayer that invites us within.  In the practice of Christian meditation we occupy the mind with a single focus - a prayer word (mantra) that we repeat in the silence.  The mantra then becomes both a “prayer of the heart” and an anchor in the stillness.

The greatest challenge to Meditation is the busy, distracted mind, and finding the time to be still.  Coming to a meditation group can be a great support and can encourage your ongoing meditation practice.  The more we practice, the more we find our daily life changes.

SCRIPTURE DISCUSSION GROUP
Scripture Discussions are held each week as preparation for the readings each Sunday. The group meets every Tuesday in the Meditation Room at the Sacred Heart Church from 10am commencing with Christian Meditation.  Scripture discussion follows at 11am. All parishioners are invited to participate in the group discussions whether it is regularly or on a casual basis. Contact the Parish Office for more details.

 

SPIRITUAL COMPANIONING
Based on the early Christian tradition of reflecting with another person as a spiritual guide or 'soul friend'. In recent times this practice is becoming more sought after by those seeking a spiritual basis to their lives in a busy changing world. Individual sessions offer an opportunity to grow in our relationship with GOd, and very importantly to develop a 'prayer practice' that nurtures this relationship.
